Submit a Request

This process is designed to be used as a substitute for the ‘key request’ paper form. It is intended to be utilized for long-term access rights (initial access for a staff or faculty member, and changes to their access based on job assignments, office moves, etc.). If you are requesting temporary access to a door for a scheduled meeting or event do not continue with this process. Instead, send an email to ‘accesscontrol@kennesaw.edu’ requesting temporary access, and attach a pdf copy of your EMS confirmation. In the subject line, type: “EMS Temporary Access Request”.

Each department/school/college has a designated point of contact who is authorized to request access changes (add, modify or remove card-based access rights) on behalf of the faculty, staff and students who require access to those organizational units’ respective areas. In order for a request to be processed, the designated point of contact must be the person making the request and authorizing the access level.

If you do not know who the person is for your department/school/college who is the authorized point of contact, please check with your supervisor/management member for direction on whom to speak with within your organizational unit for access control authorization.

Access will only be granted to individuals in response to a request from an applicable authorized point of contact.

Two types of access are granted:

  • Faculty and Staff

Based on authorization from a designed point of contact at each department/school/college, access is granted to specific faculty and staff members for one or more University-owned electronic access control systems (Salto, Onity and/or Lenel) on a semester basis, annual basis, on an ongoing basis. Similarly, access may be granted to individuals for a specific period of time in accordance with the University’s long-term visitor (LTV) program and KSU Policy: Access to University Facilities.

    Students

Based on authorization from a designated point of contact at each department/school/college, access is granted to specific non-employee students for one or more University-owned electronic access control systems (Salto, Onity and/or Lenel) on a semester basis or annual basis in accordance with KSU Policy: Access to University Facilities.
