Q. What does it mean to update your Talon Card (KSU ID) at a HotSpot?
A. You update your Talon Card (KSU ID) when you hold it to a HotSpot. When you place your card up to the HotSpot/card reader, it authenticates your door access rights and updates your card with your access priveledges.
Q. How often do I need to update my Talon Card (KSU ID) at a HotSpot?
A. You need to update your card once every seven days.
Q. How do I update my card?
A. You will hold your Talon Card (KSU ID) up to a HotSpot. A blue light on the HotSpot will flash while your Talon Card (KSU ID) is being update. It takes about five seconds to update your Talon Card (KSU ID).
Q. What does it mean if the HotSpot flashes blue and then red?
A. This can mean one of two things:
- You moved your Talon Card (KSU ID) away from the HotSpot before it was done updating.
- You do not have access to the door that you are trying to enter.
Q. Can I update my Talon Card at any Hotspot?
A. Yes, you can update your card at any HotSpot on either campus.
Q. What if I update my Talon Card (KSU ID) and it doesn't work?A. If you run into an issue opening the exterior door with your ID card, please visit the Talon One Service Center to troubleshoot the concern.
Q. What should I do if I lose my Talon Card (KSU ID)?
A. If you lose your Talon Card (KSU ID), please visit the Talon One Service Center to get a replacement card for $25. You can deactivate your lost card by logging into the My Card Manager portal. Once you are logged in, select "Card Services" on the top of the page, then select the card to deactivate under "Deactivate Card," and finally click "Deactivate Card" at the bottom, right. If your Talon Card is tied to your Fifth Third Bank debit account, be sure to contact the bank directly as well.
